Three Ways to Reduce Computer Fan Noise

Your computer’s internal fans are among the biggest culprits in making a din when your computer is running. Computer noise caused by fans can be quite irritating and disrupt your concentration during work. There are three things that you can do to reduce the noise level caused by your computer fans.
1. Clean Your Fans
Simply cleaning your computer fans can greatly increase their productivity and reduce the noise they make. Accumulated dirt and dust on your fans’ blades hamper the speed at which they spin and consequently reduce the flow of air within the computer case. With lesser airflow, computer components cannot be effectively cooled. As the air inside your computer case becomes hotter, your fans will need to work harder and unintentionally make more noise. As part of your routine computer maintenance, clean the blades of your internal fans so they can operate at maximum efficiency and at lower noise levels.
2 Replace Your Fans
Some of your computer fans may not be powerful enough to cool your computer. In this case, you need to replace them. For more efficient and quiet cooling, choose those fans that can move a larger volume of air, but produce less noise. These are those fans with high cubic feet per minute (CFM) specifications and low decibel (dB) outputs.
3 Work in a Cooler Area
If the room temperature is low, your fans will have their job cut out for them so they no longer need to spin so fast and make a lot of noise. Working in a cool area will both save you from computer fan noise and excess power consumption! You can easily accomplish this by placing your computer in a shady portion of your room, away from windows and the sun’s rays.
The easiest and quickest ways to deal with computer fan noise is to work in a cool place and clean your fan blades regularly. If you are still hearing a racket, you may need to replace your fans.
